About eons Luna
Hi, I’m eons Luna, or Eon Ong; you may simply call me Eon. I used to go by Alex Ong, but the person represented by that name is not really who I am anymore, so unless you are family or an old friend of mine I would prefer you use my current name.I am a Hipstamatic photography artist and aspiring graphics/UI designer and fandom artist, located in Singapore. As an autistic and neurodivergent adult, holding down a regular 9-to-5 job is too stressful and exhausting for me (trust me, I tried); as such, I’m currently slowly working my way to be a freelancer while pursuing my passion in fandoms and the arts.My current main fandoms include Pokémon, My Little Pony, Murder Drones (autism comfort fandom for real), and the Hellaverse (Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss), while also occasionally detouring into other fandoms.In addition to fandoms and the arts, I have a side interest in technology, and have occasionally dipped my toes into programming as a hobby. However, I do not associate myself with the ‘techbro’ crowd - I am generally somewhat mindful of the technology I adopt, and I am against the current push to integrate generative AI into everything, which I view as being overhyped while often delivering subpar or underwhelming results. While AI can be useful as an assistive tool (and I do occasionally use AI for such purposes myself, admittedly), touting it as a replacement for human work - especially in the field of the creative arts - is, frankly speaking, an insult to the depth and complexity that drives human-made art, and to the human instinct to create.Since a young age I have had a desire to create things, be it scribbled drawings, writing stories, or building things with Lego (I especially loved creating cityscapes with those things). I believe that, if nihilism really isn’t true, then some of the biggest reasons why we are put into this world is to create art and to express ourselves through the countless ways we have at our disposal (especially in our current day and age), along with the aim to explore and learn about the world and the universe around us.This is why I find the arts and humanities, along with the fields of scientific research and theoretical sciences, to be among the most noble fields; these are the fields that I believe are what give our lives its meaning. Without them, human life and civilisation would be nothing more than a nihilistic, meaningless shell, something that AI - particularly generative AI - threatens to turn true.Personally, life events big and small from my childhood up until now, along with the environment I was brought up in, have constantly put me down again and again, causing me a lot of hurt and anguish throughout my life. This is something I do wish to talk about eventually and soon (you will read much more about it when it’s done), but here is not the time and place for it. In any case, I really do want to put all of that behind me once and for all, especially after nearly 4 decades of existence on this mortal plane (and probably not much more to go on), and move on to doing the things in my life that’s been way long overdue for me.If you read all of this, thank you. I know I’m not much of a person, but I still do have a desire to make my mark on this world before my inevitable mortality comes knocking, and I appreciate that you cared enough about me to take your time out to read my brief biography.
